"Inside Out 2" Trailer: Pixar Presents Anxiety and New Emotion

Given that the first trailer for "Inside Out 2" has just dropped, I suppose Pixar fans are working very hard to feel joy.

The animated coming-of-age movie "Inside Out" from 2015 has a follow-up called "Inside Out 2." With a star-studded cast led by Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, Anger, and Fear, the first movie focused on 11-year-old Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) and the five emotions in her brain. The frazzled, orange emotion of Anxiety is introduced in the sequel trailer.

Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling aren't reprising their roles as Fear and Disgust in the follow-up due to rumored salary disputes. Tony Hale and Liza Lapira, in that order, have taken their places.

Riley in "Inside Out" finds it difficult to adapt to her new environment after moving from Minnesota to San Francisco. She experiences severe emotional difficulties and eventually runs the risk of losing not only her friends but her entire family due to the upheaval of growing up.

For Variety, film critic Peter Debruge said, "'Inside Out' blows [other Pixar films] away, going beyond the screen to become something audiences will carry around for the rest of their days." "An elegant and iconic visual metaphor for understanding [audiences'] own emotions, and empathizing with others'," he described the movie as.

The sequel was first revealed at Disney's D23 Expo in 2022. Meg LeFauve, who co-wrote the first movie, also writes the sequel, which is directed by Kelsey Mann.

On June 14, 2024, nearly nine years after the first movie's release, "Inside Out 2" is scheduled to hit theaters.
