The Kentucky governor's race is of interest to Trump's team.
The campaign staff of former President Donald Trump will be keeping a close eye on tonight's Kentucky gubernatorial contest to see if Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron can upset incumbent Democratic Governor Andy Beshear in the deeply red state.
Trump was contacted by Cameron to offer his support, and the former president made several appearances in his ads. Cameron has fully embraced his status as a MAGA candidate.
"The amazing people of Kentucky are aware of Daniel Cameron's talent as a young star who has performed admirably." For Kentucky, Andy Beshear has been a catastrophe. In an advertisement from Bluegrass Freedom Action, Trump stated, "He endorsed crooked Joe Biden, which is about as bad as it gets."
Following a hectic court day, Trump took part in a tele-rally in support of Cameron late on Tuesday.
Although Trump's team is aware that Cameron has an uphill battle ahead of him, they are nevertheless very interested in seeing how he performs because they believe it may provide some light on Trump's position in the current political environment.
Even though Trump has supported other candidates, such as the troubled governor of Mississippi, Tate Reeves, his team thinks he will gain recognition for Cameron's victory and increase Trump's influence within the GOP.
